Monday, Monday, Monday. Back again.
Let’s chat about working out. How did my week go? Ehhhhhhhhhh, about that good.
I ran once. I ended up being too sick to run Wednesday after school like I hoped. I spent the evening curled up on the couch instead. I did run Thursday, but I only did one mile. It was well over 80F when I went out. This was my first run in real heat so far this year and seeing as I’m not running much as it is, it was harder than it should have been. But I wasn’t dead after it by any means and my speed is still clinging at about a 10:45/mile pace.
Saturday Rob and I were going to run together, but it was raining in the morning so we headed out to run errands instead and ended up being out all day. And Sunday I spent the day doing some cleaning around the house in antiipation of both sets of parents coming over for dinner. Laundry, cleaning, up and down two sets of stairs a million plus times. Tired. Very tired. Can I have my energy back please?
We have the BASE Race 5k in a couple of weeks. I’m hoping to find a June 5k as well and if I can start to build my running back up to my typical 3-5 mile base I might go ahead and do the 10k for the Cubby Chase this year. I’ll play that one by ear though depending on how things continue to go.
Goals for this week include running today before my appointment in Syracuse then getting to the fieldhouse at least twice to workout with Rob in the evenings. My arms are getting flubby looking, so I’m going to throw some lower weight higher repetition lifting into rotation. The plan is run for about 20-30 minutes on the treadmill then hit the free weights twice this week. And still maybe find my way to the pool at some point.
