I’m so excited it’s Friday. It’s been a long full week back at school this week. My first full week since the week of November 3rd, not even kidding a little bit. So it’s been a bit tiring to say the least. But overall it was fine. And just another two weeks before winter break. But it’s not like I’m counting or anything…
What a week, what a week. Finally got a few workouts in too. Yeesh. Such a pain sometimes.
But, it is in fact Friday, so I’m going to go ahead and join Cynthia, Mar, and Courtney for Friday Five. This week’s theme is Friday Favorites, which is always a nice theme because then I can just blab about myself. Nice.
Right now I’m kind of on a huge pinterest kick. Back when I was planning my wedding a couple of years ago I was pinterest crazy, but afterwards that kind of died off for me. But just recently I seem to have renewed my love affair with the site and have spent lots of time. My pinterest I use now is my personal one that doubles as my blogging account, which means while most of the stuff I pin is health/fitness/triathlon/running related, I post a ton of other things too, like recipes, house stuff, outfits, other pretty things, etc. You can follow me on pinterest HERE. Another thing I really love right now is actually my job, believe it or not. At the old school district I worked for I used to felt total dread and get horrible anxiety about going everyday. Breaks even made me a nervous wreck because all I thought about was how I had to go back when they were over. But my new district isn’t like that. I feel welcomed, appreciated, and like the other teachers and my administration really care about my success. But it is my first year in a new district, meaning I need to do a lot to make myself stand out and prove that I should continue to teach here. I still sometimes get a bit of that dread just because being a first year teacher, you’re never safe so to speak, but everyday I leave happy and feeling I grateful. Can’t put a price tag on that.
I’m also crushing on some Christmas right now. Once December hits my mind goes holiday crazy. I’m totally pumped about ABC Family’s 25 days of Christmas and all the awesome and classic Christmas movies. And holiday music, swoon! I’ve been enjoying hearing it on the radio the last few days. I tried to avoid it before thanksgiving, but now I’m embracing it. I’m excited to finish up shopping, go pick out a Christmas tree, and start spreading holiday happiness all over our house.
You know what else is fantastic? Starbucks chestnut praline latte. Holy hot cakes that drink is delicious. I discovered them on our vacation since the west coast is crawling with Starbucks. Now that we’re back and only have one Starbucks in our area, I’m not guzzling them down, but they are super yummy. Everyone should definitely try one.
I’ve also been enjoying cooking lately. I made a couple of cakes, made a huge pot of chili the other day, made one of Hubby’s favorite dishes, poppy seed chicken. The joy of cooking comes and goes for me, but right now I feel like I’m enjoying myself and I’d like to have a bit more time and money so I could try some new recipes. But those things are not possible. But even so, I’m going to try out a few more things I think. I have some other recipes I want to give a shot and really, just every now and then, I need to remind myself that I am in fact a domesticated woman. I know, that thought startles me too!
