New Things Going On In The New Year

New year,  hello. Good to see you.

I did not get out for a run yesterday. I should have. Slacker. I do intend to run after track practice today. I’ll go out a slog my way through a slow and probably uncomfortable 5k run.

I need to show my Garmin 310XT that it is loved and appreciate, that the last year and a half of training and racing were well worth it. It has never steered me wrong and made me more in tune with my body, better understand what kind of athlete I am. It’ll only see a few more workouts as I have a shiny new toy showing up on Tuesday. New toy *swoon*

Another way I have kicked off my new year is to finally buck up and register for my first race of 2015. I opted for the SMP River Duathlon as part of the Flower City Challenge in Rochester NY. I’ve actually never done a du, but thanks to the Rat Snake I have in fact done a multisport race that has the run before the bike leg.

In other news, I have spent the majority of my winter break sick, maybe. I’m not sure. I haven’t been able to breath in ten days. The first few days included lots of aching and lots of headaches. Thanks to this I did not work out as much as I had wanted to this break. I spent more time curled up on my couch blowing my nose instead. It also means my house did not get as clean as I had hoped it would. Oops.

Some exciting news otherwise from me that I haven’t shared yet- A few months ago I get accepted to FitFluential. It’s been really slow going for me to kind of figure it out, but I’m really excited to be part of a wide spread and incredible fitness promotion company.

I also got accepted as part of the Nuun ambassador team for 2015. I drink a lot of Nuun, so this is very exciting. So much yumminess!

And in not fitness related news, since Husbandface and I have been both under the weather this winter break, we bought a puzzle to keep us entertained. I freaking love puzzles and can usually chew through them, but this is the most difficult and slightly frustrating puzzle ever.

I will send a tube of Nuun in your choice of flavor to anyone who can successfully complete this puzzle in under six total hours. I kid you not, this is super hard.

And backing up back to thinking about the new year, I know everyone made some resolutions, goals you’d like to reach in 2015. If your goals include racing in any capacity, I still have a couple of coaching openings for the upcoming season. Check out my coaching options here if you’re thinking about coaching for this season. I can answer any questions you might have =)

What’s one goal you have for 2015?

What did you do celebrate and ring in the new year?

  1. My one goal for 2015 is to be happy and healthy. I too was sick (with pneumonia) over Christmas, so it wasn’t the 2 week break that I was hoping for either. Hopefully you start to feel better soon and we are all happy and healthy in 2015!!

  2. Congrats on being a Nuun ambassador! I love my Nuun!
I did a puzzle over Christmas vacation! We rented a beach house that happened to have tons of puzzles available. I chose a 500 piece puzzle that looked relatively simple. Many, many hours later, I got to the end only to find out that one piece was missing… Not cool.

  3. I think a lot of people were sick over the holidays! I definitely came down with something before Christmas, but am glad to be back and feeling better in the New Year. That puzzle seriously looks like one of the most difficult puzzles I have ever seen. Love the minions. 🙂 One goal I have for 2015 is to cross the finish line of my first Ironman!
