Post Weekend Blues

Oh Monday, here you are, again.

I just had a five day weekend and it was glorious. Why do I have to go back to work? Rob and I had the whole long weekend off together too. Usually he works nightsPos Sunday through Thursday and I go to work so early Monday through Friday that he goes to work Sunday and then we don’t see each other again until I get home Friday. Between our vacation about two weeks ago and now this holiday weekend, it’s been so nice. Now it’s three straight long weeks until Christmas break starts.

On the training front, I’ve literally not worked out since our Avengers half marathon two weeks ago. I spent the week we got back recuperating. This week I got myself to the gym Monday only to not have everything I needed. Tuesday I got out of track late and missed spinning. Then after that Hubby and I hunkered down for our long weekend together. I hoped to get a workout or two in, but it didn’t happen. My goal for this week is to run Monday and Wednesday after track, spin Tuesday and Thursday.  I really want to start swimming again, but the pool has been closed for a few weeks while they install a new deck. It should be opening up sometime this week. I need to swim badly. And run. I really, really need to run again.

Hubby did this over the weekend too. We finally decided we had too many medals for the little display hangers I made us. We still are using the wooden hand made ones for all our bibs, but all our medals are now hung on an extendable curtain rod. My cluttered side is on the right, ha! And that top shelf is all race accolades. Stickers, mugs, trophies, Musselman Musselbaby, my Delta Lake champion pint glass. So much race goodness.

Running workout for tonight. I’m leaning towards an interval workout. Mile warm up, 400m repeats with a .10 mile recovery, half mile cool down once I’m feeling wiped out. Somewhere in the total range of 3-4 miles should do it. I just need a good jolt to my system. Hopefully this will do the trick.

Also, a reminder that tomorrow is Tuesday, which means it’s Tri Talk Tuesday! We’re going to be talking about planning your race season, so plan to link up with any posts, new or old, about planning your season or if you know what’s in store for you for 2105!

  2. I also did no running during our long weekend (except my turkey trot!). I seriously love lazy long weekends off work!

  3. I’m sick, so I didn’t really workout over the long break either. The husband and I did ruck 5 miles Thanksgiving morning, but that was it. Hopefully this sinus infection will be done soon so I can get back to it.

  4. We all need some time off every once in a while. I am looking forward to not having a “run” on my schedule for a couple weeks. I haven’t been in the pool since August (hangs head in shame). That is going to happen this month. LOVE love love the way you guys display your medals. What a cute idea for a couple!
