Happy Monday off! I’m off for MLK day and I’m taking full advantage as far as workouts go. I slept in until an amazing 7:30 this morning and was in the gym by 8am. It was still relatively empty, but a different crowd than I’m used to being that I normally go two hours earlier.
I got in a 3.5 mile tempo run, lifted and did some upper body strength training, then I stretched and foam rolled a bit. Very nice.
After the gym I killed a bit of time around the house until hubby left for work, then I grabbed Finley out from the basement and got her all set up on the trainer. Our trainer is super loud, so I figured by waiting until Rob left I could spare him the noise. I did a 30 minute heart rate zone 3 ride. Nothing too crazy, just trying to get more used to riding aero. I figure I should get comfortable with that inside now before I hit the roads in the spring.
Our weekend was really good. Filled with way too much bad eating and no working out, but fun. We went to the Syracuse basketball game on Saturday. My dad’s boss gave us tickets to sit in his private box and it was super awesome.
We were sitting right above the student section, so it was a good and rowdy and made for a fun place to sit. A few times we reached right down and high fived them.
I’m feeling very spoiled by the box. Comfy seats with arm rests instead of metal bleachers, free pizza, wings, water, soda, beer, whatever. Awesome view. It was so much fun. Definitely helps that they won in a nail biter of a finish.
Yesterday was football! Rob invited a friend over and I made homemade guacamole and chicken wing dip. Good times all around.
For now, I’m going to enjoy my day off. I’ll Griswold for a walk in the snow today and just relax. Tomorrow I’m hoping to get myself back in the pool for the first time in like two months. Cross your fingers for me.
