Winter is Definitely Here

A few things worth reporting.

First, I caved and bought full length cold weather gear compression pants. Although I managed my 16* run Sunday in the snow in capris, my legs were quite cold. I didn’t notice while I was running so much, but either way, if I want to continue running outside this winter it’s a worthwhile purchase. And we have a big nor’easter storm coming in tonight so our Turkey Trot in a few days is going to be full of a lot of cold and snow and sleet and all not nice winter things.

Another wonderful thing that happened was my Subaru badges showed up!

I ordered them back in August then kind of forgot about them until a few weeks ago. I realized they hadn’t come yet and the email I got after I ordered them said 6-8 weeks. I even mentioned to my boss yesterday, seeing hers, that I had never gotten mine. Then they showed up!

And they were free. Awesome! And look at all that salt. It’s definitely winter. Really pops off the orange too.

Because I have declared that November be stricken from my records I also decided that swimming can wait until December. It’s my least favorite of the three disciplines of triathlon (meaning I should do it the most to get better). I’m signed up for spinning tonight and I’ll be damned if I don’t get a workout in. But I’m debating spin versus a run outside at this point. We’ll see how I’m feeling when I get home tonight. And how bad the storm is slamming us by then.

Also, a big wave and hello to all my readers. While I have a few followers publicly, but it’s nice to know I have a good amount of lurkers too and it’s really nice seeing new faces popping up in my comments. Knowing you all take some interest in me here is definitely good motivation to get my butt moving on throwing myself into my base training this upcoming week. So thank you! And keep sticking around, I’ll take all the accountability I can get!

  1. Yay for new pants! I can’t believe how much snow you have already! We’re just getting cold rain which is probably the worst type of weather ever. God luck on your Turkey Trot! Also, that badge for your car is pretty cool! I’ve never seen that before.

  2. I love the badges!

  3. I can’t run in really cold weather in capris – but I love capris normally. I broke out the long running pants for my Thanksgiving morning run!
